Judy Held

Judy Held is the President of the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana and also the Director of Stewardship for the Diocese of Great Falls-Billings. She has 22 years of experience in development and philanthropy. Previously, she was President of Benefis Healthcare Foundation in Great Falls, Director of Regional Philanthropy for Billings Clinic Foundation in Billings, and Executive Director of the Foundation for Community Care in Sidney. She is a former member and board chair of the Montana Nonprofit Association (MNA) and continues to serve on its Public Policy Council. Previously, she served on the Governor’s Task Force on Endowments and Philanthropy and as a member and president of the Montana Healthcare Communications and Development Association, the Montana AFP Chapter, and the MonDak Association of Nonprofits.

Judy was raised on a farm and ranch near Peerless, Montana. The youngest of eight children, she went on to earn two Bachelor’s and one Master’s degree and also earn the CAP ® - Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation.

Judy and her husband, Brian, have four children and are members of Holy Spirit Parish in Great Falls.

In June of 2014, Jackie moved to Great Falls from Bismarck, North Dakota, where she most recently worked in public finance law and trust administration. She is now working part-time for the Catholic Foundation of Eastern Montana, focusing her efforts on the Care & Share Annual Catholic Appeal.

Jackie grew up in Velva, North Dakota, moving to Minot while in junior high.  Upon graduation from high school, she attended the University of North Dakota earning her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, with majors in Accounting and Management.  The youngest of four girls, she went on to earn her law degree from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1986, and worked in Bismarck practicing law and assisting colleagues in the insurance defense and finance industries while raising three very active children. She is a devoted practicing Catholic and a licensed North Dakota attorney. 

When not traveling to visit friends and family, Jackie and her husband, Curt, enjoy watching UND hockey and partaking in the many outdoor activities that Montana has to offer; including skiing, hiking and kayaking. Jackie is a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Great Falls, but enjoys visiting various parishes throughout the diocese.
